What to expect from your first Microblading session.

Who doesn’t want to wake up with perfect brows every morning? Isn’t it the worst when you scrub off your makeup and your eyebrows disappear with the rest of your makeup? Microblading is quickly becoming the hottest trend in beauty, and it’s not hard to see why! We know our brows can make a huge impact on our faces. They truly are one of the most dominant facial features, so why not make them perfect?

Now that your appointment has been booked, here's everything you can expect and how to prepare for your brow transformation:

Pre-Appointment

  • No working out 24 hrs prior to your appointment. We know it sucks, but what sucks even more is sweaty pores and brow sweat is real!

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeine 48 hours prior. Yes, this means no Starbucks or brunch mimosas. Microblading is essentially a tattoo appointment and alcohol and caffeine will thin your blood.

  • No aspirin or pain killers. Again, similar to a tattoo appointment. We’re here for perfect brows, not bloody ones.

  • No Botox or filler in the temple, brow, and eye area for 1 month prior to the appointment.

  • Cancel your upcoming brow grooming and dermatological appointments -- this includes threading, waxing, tinting, and any microdermabrasion. The more natural hair you have for your appointment the better!

During Your Appointment

Step One: First your artist will numb your brows. If your burning question was: How much will it hurt? We’re happy to say that there is no pain in your brow game! A topical anaesthetic is applied and after 30 mins, your brows are numb!

Step Two: While your brows are numbing, your artist will do a little interview to understand your daily routine and what your daily makeup wear looks like. This will help us customize your best brow -- whether you like it bold or natural, you fill them in daily or only for special occasions, and, if you succumbed to the 90s trend of pencil brows, what your ideal brow looks like. All this will help us determine the best brow for you!

Step Three: Now that your brows are numb and we know all we need to know about your brow goals, we map them out! Your artist will take some pre-dyed string and using a ruler, will map out your best brow shape by taking your facial structure and unique eye shape into consideration as they line up the string along your brow. Once both artist and client are happy with the shape and look, we’ll clean up some lines and get started!

Step Four: Once you’re settled in comfortably, your brow artist will then begin the procedure. This part usually takes about an hour to complete.

Step Five: We reveal your gorgeous new arches! Once we wipe away the excess ink, we’ll show you the beginning of your love affair with your new brows! No more extended morning routine stressing about uneven brows!

After Care
After care is a vital part to the overall success of the treatment. Your brow artist will run you through everything you need to know about your new brows, but just in case here’s a small list of things you should know after your microblading appointment:

  • Avoid water, soap, lotion, or makeup near the brow area for 7 days post appointment.

  • Wash your face with extreme care and shower with your face away from the spray or take a bath.

  • Itching and flaking is normal. Remember to not pick or scratch at your brows.

  • With clean hands, apply the post-care ointment using a cotton swab twice a day.

Your brows are your investment, so make sure you take care of them! Not only that, but they last you over a year before any touch ups are necessary!
